New Patented Design of Guitar Picks Prevents Dropping While Playing
Company announces 100% of net proceeds to benefit impoverished in Tecate Mexico Santa Cruz, Ca- November 15th, 2011- CrossPick Guitar Picks have announced a unique patented pick design to help guitarists grip the pick and maintain more control during performance.
“Traditional guitar picks are made from flat pieces of plastic that are gripped between the thumb and forefinger to pluck the strings of a guitar,” notes David De La Rosa, founder of CrossPick. “Many times, guitarists drop guitar picks while they’re playing. Our CrossPick design, gives Guitarists a grip and prevents that from happening. We call CrossPick the “The No Slip Speed Pick”.
Mr. De La Rosa founded the company after studying with Jazz Guitar Virtuoso, Joe Pass, who performed with Jazz greats, Ella Fitzjerald and Dizzy Gillespie. Joe Pass commented that he preferred to play with broken picks with edges to prevent the picks from flying out of his hand in the middle of a “Hot Lick”.
CrossPick Guitar Picks are made from a special bullet proof plastic to ensure durability. CrossPick’s unique design includes a horizontal cross-branch to prevent slipping and a vertical cross-branch to provide stability and reduce turning. The end result is a pick that lets the guitarist perform loose and relaxed, playing a faster and smoother performance.
Starting with this Holiday Season, CrossPick Guitar Picks have announced 100% of Net Proceeds of CrossPick Blues Guitar Picks will help feed the poor in Tecate Mexico.
“I witnessed my grandparents feed and house people coming to America to better their lives. Their example has always motivated me to help people to help themselves,” notes De La Rosa. A few years ago, De La Rosa visited Tecate Mexico where he met American Pastor Ben Rivera and his wife Rosie who were feeding the poorest of the poor. These needy individuals were living in horrible conditions with no running water. Each winter torrential rains wipe out their makeshift homes, and force them to move into Pastor Rivera’s church for food and shelter. “The needs in Tecate Mexico really touched my heart,” comments De La Rosa.
It’s the Christmas season and I would love to help these hard-working folks have a wonderful holiday. The proceed from our CrossPick sales will help to provide food, water, clothes and continue to run a modest Medical and Dental facility we were involved in building .”
CrossPick Blues Guitar Picks are available for order through our company’s web site at http:// www.CrossPick.com
CrossPick Guitar Picks, based in Santa Cruz, Ca, manufactures no-slip speed guitar picks. The innovative and patented design of CrossPick Guitar Picks Guitar Picks prevents the pick from slipping or turning, providing stability and optimal musical performance.

Yuba County D.A. Prosecutes Brothers For Protesting Tax Policy
On Tuesday November 29, Wheatland residents Benjamin and
Russell Bartholomew will finally have their day in court to respond to charges stemming from their tax protest last Spring. On April 28 the brothers were arrested by Yuba County Sheriffs deputies and charged with “wearing masks”. The brothers were wearing Guy Fawkes masks while standing near a sign that read “TAXES = THEFT”. The masks, popularized in the movie V for Vendetta, are internationally recognized symbols of protest.
The District Attorney dropped the “mask wearing” charge but the brothers are still being charged with violating Penal Code section 602(f) (illegally posting a sign) and Penal Code section 148(a)(1) (obstructing a police officer while attempting to discharge his or her official duties). The
brothers are each facing a possible $2,000 fine and 2 years in jail.
“We are being punished for exercising our First Amendment rights to protest government tax policy,” said Benjamin Bartholomew. Benjamin and Russell are liberty activists. They are co-founders of Good Men Do Something and members of the Free State Project. “The police said it was illegal for us to wear masks and asked to see our faces, and we complied. We weren’t arrested until one of the officers argued that taxes are not theft. They didn’t really care about the masks. They dropped that charge. But they didn’t like our message.”
The DA offered a plea bargain, but the brothers refused the offer.
“The D.A. also offered to drop the whole case if we would just plead guilty to littering, like admitting that we dropped a paper clip or something,” said Russell Bartholomew. “But we didn’t litter. They wanted us to plead
guilty to something we didn’t do, and that just doesn’t seem right,” Russell added.
“I am amazed this is happening at all,” said attorney Paul Nicholas Boylan, who agreed to represent the brothers. Attorney Boylan is also a professor of law and specializes in free speech issues.
“It simply makes no sense. If an American citizen can be punished with a fine and face jail time for expressing their displeasure with official tax policy, then freedom of speech is meaningless and every member of the Tea Party should be in jail,” said Boylan. “If the District Attorney plans on arguing that the California Penal Code prevents this kind of protest, then I am reasonably confident that any jury standing judgment over my client’s actions will agree that any provision of the Penal Code that limits the right to protest tax policy is unconstitutional,” Boylan concluded.
The Bartholomew Brothers’ trial is scheduled to begin on November 29, 2011, at 8:30 AM in Department 1 of the Yuba County Superior Court located at 215 Fifth Street, Marysville, CA 95901. The court telephone number is (530) 749-7600.

College Social Network Bans all Tracking – GoCNCN.com
New York, N.Y. -- The student-exclusive social network GoCNCN.com -- Collegiate Nation is fighting to protect college students by banning all forms of tracking. The super-private social network allows all college students with an edu address to join for free.
“Online tracking -- especially by social networking giants that know who your friends are, what you think, and where you are right now -- is the single most serious threat that college students face today,” says Evelyn Castillo-Bach, the outspoken privacy advocate, entrepreneur and founder of Collegiate Nation. "All the tuition paid, all the studying and hard work can be wiped out in a blink by one post on social networks that are tracking every action, every association, and every preference."
To protect college students, GoCNCN.com -- Collegiate Nation allows students to post anonymously, use any name, and delete any post, anytime. "Tracking," explains Castillo-Bach, "takes on many forms. It ranges from tagging to face recognition technology. It includes following what you look at, who you know, and where you've been. We have banned it all."
College students have the most to lose, says Castillo-Bach. “A college student's entire future can be derailed easily when every social moment is stored on some database, forever. We don't do that. When a student deletes something, it's gone."
Facebook is under investigation in Europe right now for keeping information people deleted from their accounts, tracking users after logging off, and even creating shadow profiles on people that have never used the site. “Facebook is not your friend,” says Castillo-Bach. “It has morphed into a giant data collector. College students need to get off that grid. Post nothing there you don’t want to see on the front page of your hometown newspaper.”
Collegiate Nation has banned third party apps, games, and even ads because they provide a back door to tracking and extracting private information.
“We owe our loyalty to college students and not special interests. We are independent,” says Castillo-Bach. Collegiate Nation is supported only by student subscriptions.
Evelyn Castillo-Bach earned her M.S. in 1993 from Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.

Sexual Harassment Seminars To Tackle Business and College Workplace Problems
Sexual Harassment and Discrimination incidents at colleges, universities and businesses of all sizes are being approached by approved seminars from Raemac Group & Associates and PMI, a global training company, announces Alfred Porter, PMI Senior Group Compliance Trainer.
Each California seminar activity is approved by the State Bar of California and the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM), an international professional human resources services association.
“With the rise in workplace related sexual harassment and discrimination lawsuits and complaints nationwide, according to the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, it is in the best interests of companies, public and private colleges to be safe in the knowledge that they are meeting the current laws, and, know how to take the necessary measures to protect themselves and their employees,” says Porter.
“Just one major lawsuit or complaint could seriously ruin a company’s reputation, future growth, and damage them financially, states” Porter. He says that companies in California with 50 or more employees must meet the AB1825 mandate requirements and enroll their managers or supervisors into a sexual harassment prevention training program.
According to Porter, companies with less than 50 employees may also want to take preventive steps and sign up for a “live” one day seminar.
Other states that have taken the lead in sexual harassment and discrimination legislation are Maine and Connecticut. Texas and a few other states are on the fence but may be passing similar California legislation.
Porter noted that “each unique seminar offered by Raemac Group and PMI will feature a ‘prevention is the cure’ program. That “celebrated” program presents a three-prong, non-traditional plan including what to do before a lawsuit, during a lawsuit and what to do if you must appear in court. Is Folic Acid Obsolete in Pregnancy?
San Francisco, CA - For the past generation, Folic Acid has been the gold standard for prenatal care – thanks in large part to the evidence surrounding the prevention of Neural Tube Defects in newborns. “For 20 years in practice, I used to prescribe any prenatal vitamin(s) for patients contemplating pregnancy or already pregnant” says Dr. Kimberley Fillmore of the Diablo Valley Women OB/GYN Medical Group in Concord, CA. “About 2 years ago while reading medical journals about recurrent miscarriage; I discovered that some patients lack a particular gene (called MTHFR) needed to fully metabolize folic acid.”
“Up to half of all women in their childbearing years have a form of this genetic limitation.” Dr. Fillmore continued, “MTHFR can reduce your ability to break down folic acid anywhere from 30-70% of the intended amount. Many scientific publications are beginning to highlight MTHFR and connect it to many pregnancy complications including: Neural Tube Defects, Miscarriage, Anemia, Preterm Birth, and Low Birth Weight. Most prescription prenatal vitamins contain 1 milligram of Folic Acid. Historically, doctors have tried adding extra folic acid but not all patients are achieving success without switching to the more active form of folate.
OB Dr. Kristin Kroeker of Fresno agrees. “Prenatals with the new L-methyloflate have a tremendous advantage over the type with just folic acid. I strongly encourage OB patients with a history of pregnancy problems to switch to this new approach. For moms starting a family at an older age, using active L-methyloflate can minimize complications. The new folate has been helpful in the synthesis of red blood cells in my OB patients which can reduce the risk of anemia.”
Data published in February, 2011 showed that the products Neevo® and NeevoDHA® were more effective than standard prescription prenatal vitamins containing 1 milligram of Folic Acid in reducing the risk of anemia during pregnancy. “L-methylfolate is a different kind of folate that can be better absorbed by everyone” says Dr. Fillmore. She adds, “I particularly recommend this approach to patients who have had a previous unexplained miscarriage, high risk…or are advanced maternal age.”
For general health and pregnancy, many patients still benefit from using traditional Folic Acid. However, for many doctors and selective OB patients, the advancements in better folate could mean all the difference. Several new prenatal products with L-methylfolate are now available with prescription throughout California.
