FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Watts® Salt Free Water Conditioners Now Listed By Los Angeles Sanitation County District
Brea, California (August 18, 2009) Watts Water Quality Products, a subsidiary of Watts Water Technologies, Inc., announced its new line of SALT-FREE water conditioners have been reviewed and approved by the Santa Clarita Valley Sanitation District as accepted alternatives to salt based anion exchange water softeners, meeting all guidelines as salt free water conditioners, set forth by the district.
The accepted products include ScaleNet® Anti-Scale Water Conditioning Systems, designed to prevent scale formation on plumbing fixtures, water heaters, shower faucets and other surfaces; and E-TreatTM water conditioning systems, using NO SALT - NO BACKWASH technology, designed to totally eliminate salinity discharge and conserve water.
The installation of salt based anion exchange water softeners have been under the eye of California lawmakers, specifically in the Santa Clarita Valley since 2003. In November of 2008 the Santa Clara River Chloride Reduction Ordinance of 2008 was approved by the local voters and enacted through Measure S. This ordinance requires the removal of residential automatic water softeners by June 30, 2009 for all Santa Clarita Valley Sanitation District customers.
The Santa Clarita Valley Sanitation District has examined a number of water conditioning systems to ensure that they are not subject to the ordinance prohibiting the installation of automatic water softeners (also known as self-regenerating water softeners) in the Santa Clarita Valley. Approved systems that meet all of the guidelines as a salt free whole house water conditioning alternative are listed on the Los Angeles Sanitation County District web site: www.lacsd.org/info/industrial_waste/chloride_in_santa_clarita/alternatives.asp?pid=82
Watts Water Quality Products personnel commented "as California continues to look at water supply issues as well as drinking water quality, Watts® is proud to be on the cutting edge of approved technology providing these water treatment alternatives to the public." Watts is committed to the continued design and manufacture of high quality products that will exceed the growing needs of our customers while meeting the ever-changing regulatory framework as we are witnessing in California and other areas of the United States.

CHARITIES FACE DESPERATE TIMES DUE TO DIFFICULT FUNDRAISING ENVIRONMENT
Throughout 2008 and 2009 non-profit organizations, universities and churches have faced one of the most difficult fundraising environments in history. With the downturn in the economy many organizations have found it almost impossible to meet their fundraising goals. As a result many have been forced to scale back the everyday services that they provide for the needy. Most charitable organizations survive on a combination of government and private grant money, small private donations and occasional large private donations.
Fortunately a new charitable giving strategy has been developed by USA Wealth Management of Grand Rapids, MI that opens the door for the average person to potentially create a large lump sum of money to donate to their favorite charity, without losing the income that money provides, or the ability to eventually transfer that money to their heirs. For the first time ever a person can create a sizeable donation to charity without losing anything. This is a win-win situation for both the charitable organizations and the individual donor. This Patent-Pending program is very simple in nature but extremely powerful in its execution.
Senior Wealth Management of Roseville, CA as USA Wealth Managements Licensee in California is currently working with both individual donors and charitable organizations throughout California to utilize this program to tremendously increase donations to worthy causes. They have created a website www.createmoney4charity.com where individuals or organizations can go to watch a short 6 minute video that explains the basics of this program and how they might benefit from utilizing this new strategy.

Local Water Authorities Offer Free Shower Timers to Fight Drought
San Diego, CA (MMD Newswire) July 29, 2009 - -Water Authorities all along the West Coast are offering free shower timers to help fight the drought. Using the "shorter shower" device saves the environment, conserves water and reduces utility bills one shower at a time.
The "Shorter Shower" is designed to be installed in showers by attaching the device to the wall of the shower with its' built-in suction cup. The hour glass sand timer is made of tough ABS plastic and is shatter proof. The "Shorter Shower" is a visible, constant reminder which promotes resource conservation in the home.
"On average, the American shower lasts about eight minutes and uses roughly 44 gallons of water. That amount of water alone is enough to wash five cars in a commercial car wash. By taking a quick four to five minute shower, you'd help save about 27.5 gallons of water per shower. If everyone in the US took a shorter shower today, we'd save about 6 billion gallons of water, enough to fill more than 9,000 Olympic-sized swimming pools!" explains Tracy LeRoux, spokesperson for shortershower.com.
More water conservation facts:
· Drought alerts are at an all time high and water authorities across the west coast are mandating consumers to conserve water.
· The low rainfall and reduced runoff has caused water levels in key statewide reservoirs to drop to critically low levels.
· Officials say that if poor precipitation patterns continue, California could be headed for the most severe drought it's ever faced.
· About 20% of all home indoor water use comes from showers.
· A four-minute shower uses approximately 20 to 40 gallons of water
· Even a one or two minute reduction can save up to 700 gallons per month.
· Lengthy showers not only add to wasting water, but they also increases utility bills.
Districts offering free or low cost water conservation devices include: Casitas Municipal Water District, Contra Costa Water District, Oakland Water Conservation Division, City of Santa Cruz Water Conservation Office, City of Petaluma Water Resources and Conservation, Soquel Creek Water Conservation, Seattle Public Works, Marin Municipal Water District and Portland Water Bureau. For communities not offering a free Shorter Shower, it sells for just $7.99 and is available online or at Home Depot. For other environment saving tips, group discounts and custom printing information visit www.shortershower.com .
